Basic and Additional Childcare Subsidies
Government subsidies for childcare and infant care are available for parents of children who are Singapore citizens enrolled at licensed preschools in Singapore. It is important to note that these subsidies are applicable only to Singapore Citizens; Permanent Residents and foreigners are required to pay the standard gross fees.
The basic subsidy for childcare programmes is set at $300, while the subsidy for infant care is at $600. For families with working mothers and a gross monthly household income of $12,000 or below, an Additional Subsidy is available, further reducing out-of-pocket costs. To ensure equitable support, larger families with 3 or more dependents can also apply to have their additional subsidy computed on a Per Capita Income (PCI) basis, potentially qualifying them for higher subsidy tiers based on their specific household needs.
For instance, for a working mother (as the main applicant) with a household of 4 members and a total household income of $6,000. The monthly price for a Full Day Childcare programme at our POP childcare centre in Ang Mo Kio would look like this:
Gross Fee: $650
Basic Subsidy: $300
Additional Subsidy: Based on PCI Tier, estimated up to $340*
Final Out-of-Pocket: $10 per month
*Subject to changes by ECDA
Refer to the tables below for details of the subsidies that you qualify for, based on the programme your child is enrolled in.
